Basic Close Protection Course

Course Description:

Our Basic Close Protection Course is open to private security practitioners and professional protectors of all backgrounds and experience levels, this course will introduce students to foundational security principles and Ghostfoot's Philosophy of Protection.

We are offering a blended training. Days 1 & 2 will take place virtually in the week prior to the in person course. The in person course will be 18-20 March 2026.

Through a combination of classroom instruction and dynamic field exercises, students will also learn: What Executive Protection is NOT, Basic Situational Awareness, Team Movements, Basic Vehicle Operations, Operational Security (OPSEC), Communications Security (COMSEC), Basic Technical Security Countermeasures (TSCM), Mission Planning, critical elements of The Advance, and Introduction to Surveillance and Counter-surveillance.

We believe people learn better from personal experience than from slideshows. Students will have several opportunities to put what they learn into practice throughout the week, and will receive specific, personalized feedback from expert instructors following each exercise. The week culminates with an opportunity to plan, conduct, and debrief a full protective detail.
